Level 3 UAL Drawing Qualification

Townscapes

13/09/2012
Sight size line drawing using pencil of Blackburn townscape. This drawing doesn't appeal to me. I could have developed the drawing more were the landscape meets the sky.

Expressive drawing - 20/09/2012

I used compressed and willow charcoal to create an expressive drawing of Blackburn townscape on A1 paper using a ruler to get the proportions. I much preferred this drawing to last weeks line drawing because it weren't sight size and it were more free and abstract. I thought that this drawing were much more appealing.

Made some changes - 20/11/2012

Life drawings

Life drawing -Night Class 11/10/2012

I made some quick line drawings of model using compressed and willow charcoal, pen and felt tip and pencil. I used the proportional drawing method - I found it a lot quicker than when using sight size measurements - its much more expressive.

Some of the line drawings reminded me of Euan Uglow's work

Made two line paintings using black and white paint on A3 paper.
Drawing with a brush gives a quicker result than using a pencil or pen because you can't rub it out. I could develop this work by using these techniques at home.
